Project Components and Outcomes:
Efficiencies Review Update – Progress to date evaluation with staff and management. Follow up included a staff workshop to discuss progress to date i.e. what had been achieved, what has yet to be achieved and any issues / learnings arising. Development of a progress analysis report.
Mareeba Branch Relocation Investigation and Report – new site for the Mareeba Branch investigation and review. Development of an advisory report on the proposed new site
Project Description: RHCS undertook a comprehensive review and audit of the current Bathurst City Library. The audit utilised the RHCS library building audit tool based on the standards and principles of People places: A guide for public library buildings in NSW.
Full building condition report, with reference to current library and building standards
A library futures report containing recommendations for the redevelopment and refurbishment of the current building
A site plan with layout options and recommendations
A comprehensive review of all library branch infrastructures against all current library and building standards; Occupational Health & Safety standards etc – the project outcomes included a comprehensive infrastructure report and individual report by branch i.e.:
Production of building condition reports for each branch with recommendations
Production of branch building area data sheets based on current standards i.e. service based floor space calculations and associated requirements (these can be used by Architects as a design brief)
Infrastructure Report incorporating the findings and recommendations of the building condition reports, service based requirements and recommendations
Clarence Valley Council has since recommended the building of a new central library (Grafton Branch)
